Azadi "Amilliyen" Byabusha is a Tanzanian “filmworker” who uses photography and filmmaking to explore the perspective an outsider has assimilating into American culture. His unconventional use of fly-on-the-wall photography and obsequious composition leads to his work having an omniscient yet familiar feeling. As an outsider himself, Azadi uses his work as a way to reconnect and preserve the roots of African and Black culture.
